The next FCAA Members Meeting will be on March 9th at the Delaplaine Visual Arts Center, 40 S. Carroll Street, in downtown Frederick. At 6:30 pm there will be a business meeting and at 7:00 pm the Artist Talk start. Free for members • $5 for non-members
Artist Talk – Lesley Riley is a pioneer in taking the 150-year old cyanotype process into the modern digital age, blending the classic and contemporary to create truly unique botanical art. These camera-less photographic blueprints are one-of-a-kind prints, that, much like Degas’s monoprints, become the starting point for her subsequent 21st century digital reworking and revisions, as she combines layers of pattern and color culled from her own paintings, artwork and photographs. Lesley draws on her innate sense of composition and color, to present her stunning, large, yet intimate, visions of enhanced natural beauty.
FCAA invites members and prospective members to our monthly meetings. We are currently meeting at the Delaplaine Arts Center, 40 S Carroll St, Frederick, MD 21701. Our FCAA events page displays the monthly meeting dates and speakers once scheduled.
The first part of the meeting is reserved for announcements, socializing and networking, with the program usually beginning around 7:30 pm. The program consists of a guest speaker, art demo or critique. Most meetings end by 8:30 pm.
We invite all attendees to bring food or drinks to share.
